Learning new things

As I promised you before, I’ll try to catch up writing about what I got since the end of 2017. And here it goes my story……

GEN Z ARISES

It started in November right after a young adult retreat from my home church. God told me about things I should have done better in my ministry. As usual, I took it really hard on myself, of course (LOL, so me).

But afterward, God showed me there’s a generation gap between the millennials (generation Y) and the next generation which is called as generation Z (Gen Z). We’re shifting to a new generation which is completely different in characters, interests and learning behaviors. I felt like it’s time for churches to fill in the gaps, to accept this generation as they are and to find new and effective ways to grow them. God is releasing a new generation!

I remember how God guided me to research more about Gen Z. God told me that we need a completely new approach to engage with this new generation. Old ways will not work anymore and we need to be open-minded in discovering the new, creative methods that God will introduce to us in the next season. We need to trust God and let ourselves out from the comfort zone!

I began to share about this to my Lead Pastor, young adults leaders’ team, and my minister friends. I was stunned when my Global Lead Pastor, Ps.Niko Njotorahardjo prophecied at the end of 2017 that “the year of 2018 is the year of new beginnings”.

MORE GRACE, MORE POWER

At the second week of 2018, I began to notice how busy I was particularly this year. I even spent the passing of 2017 to 2018 with a counseling session. God sent me this soul I have been chasing since last year with no sign of progress. I was not even knocking anymore and He delivered her right to me.

When I was in my quiet time with God with a grateful heart, a day after the counseling session, a voice in my heart said “More grace, more power”. Then He told me that the big harvest which is coming in 2018 will be done only by His power. The Holy Spirit will be working tremendously, like never before. Our job is to prepare ourselves and be ready to receive and to disciple an incredible amount of souls.

Always remember that our ministry is never ours. It’s His and His alone, and He will take care of His own. So, we need to focus more on the things we should do and surrender the end results to God.

DECIDE YOURSELF

I believe that this year is also about making a personal decision. Everyone has to decide for his/her own salvation. We always remember about Jesus saving our lives but often forget to work out our own salvation (Philippians 2:12). We often too easy to blame other people or situations we are in. But at the end of the day, whatever our excuses are, He will judge us justly. And He’s coming soon! So we need to get out of the devil’s trap and recommit ourselves to really follow God and to do what He pleases.

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

(Deuteronomy 30:19-20)

Better late than never LOL,

Naomi
